I’ve knuckled down to writing “properly” in recent months, inspired by noir maestra Alice Myrskystäkoira, author of the “Shark” detective series. Her Finnish sleuth works in Bradford, UK – a shadowy place at the best of times.

I live on the Iberian peninsular and enjoy 300 days of sun a year. Without them I might go a little mad.

I’ve never lived in Finland, yet it draws me like a Northern Light – or maybe that’s the headlamps of rally cars calling?

RT could be stretched to “Rich T”, transposed into “Biscuit”and cut back to “Biccy”. Make of that what you will.

I hope you enjoy the series of Olga “Seje” Hansen thrillers. They are no-nonsense, close to the knuckle, rude, touching and mostly based on real people I’ve had the opportunity to know. I’m mostly grateful that some of them left me alone afterwards.

These adventures raise hard questions and sometimes even dare to provide answers – a disappearing trait among writers in today’s doomer society.

My favourite quote is:

You can’t change the system from inside the system.

There’s lots to change, but currently society is trying the impossible – lifting itself off the ground. Bankers who crash the system charged with re-booting it; educators who have never lived in the real world writing curricula, politicians who have never run a business try to run an economy – and so it goes on.

To evolve, we must step outside the box and look back in on a system that few understand and fewer still can juggle to their advantage.

See you there, fellow hypocrites and delusionals.
